Skin resurfacing
The very smooth laser beam of the erbium laser is also called the “cold beam” due to its low thermal shrinking effect. It removes the upper epidermis by means of very short, high-energy laser impulses. after 2 treatments with HARMONY 2,940nm Er:YAG Laser and AFT YELLOW 570 Uneven skin areas or hypertrophic scars are flattened to the normal skin level. Pigment deposits are removed superficially and completely. After the treatment, the upper skin layers are regenerated and a new smooth skin grows. In comparison to other methods of skin ablation such as micro-dermabrasion with grinders and mechanical or chemical peels, the big advantage of this smooth skin resurfacing is the pre-defined and thus controllable ablation of skin layers in several steps. A visible improvement in the skin with very low down-time for patients is the result.
