Every Month we are giving certified Laserprotection courses in our own Laser Training Center in Berlin and Bornheim near Cologne and Bonn. The exact schedules you can find out at the Timetable.
There is currently no obligation to appoint a person responsible for laser protection when using pulsed light systems. Nevertheless, we think it is important for all users to obtain all the information possible when using pulsed light systems. For this reason, we highly recommend that all users of pulsed light systems attend a course on laser protection. In contrast, when using lasers of classes 3 B and 4 it is a legal requirement that a person responsible for laser protection be appointed in writing. All the necessary information is provided in a laser protection course, which enables participants to become responsible for laser protection in accordance with § 6 section 2 of “UVV Laserstrahlung (BGV B2)” (the prescriptions of the German Trade Association). The course content includes subjects such as physics, medical lasers, the effects of lasers on human tissue, the risks and damage caused by laser beams, safety measures, regulations and provisions. The laser protection is a one-day course in accordance with the requirements of the German Trade Association. A certificate confirms attendance and the knowledge acquired. The medical applications of lasers are discussed in detail, as well as pulsed light treatments in surgery, aesthetics and cosmetics. Please note: the pulsed light system ARIA is not a laser; it can be also used in beauty studios. In accordance with § 1 of the German “Heilpraktikergesetz” (non-medical practitioner law) and the decree of the German Health Ministry in North Rhine Westphalia of 18th February 2001 (AZ III B2-0401.12), lasers of classes 3 and 4 are only to be used under the control of a doctor.
