How does permanent hair removal with pulsed light work? (NO LASER!)
High energy light impulses emitted by a xenon lamp are selectively absorbed by the melanin-containing hair follicles during their growth stage. The energy absorbed by the hair heats it together with the follicles. The hair stem cells are damaged and destroyed without any damage to the surrounding tissue. The hair does not grow again and is thus removed permanently.
What happens during a pulsed light treatment?
Before starting the permanent hair removal, the hairs to be treated are shaved using a disposable or electric shaver. A thin (!) layer of ultrasound gel is applied. Then the treatment with the AFT applicator starts. During the days following the treatment, the hairs fall out.
What does a pulsed light treatment feel like?
The light impulse feels like a tiny prick without any pain. No local anaesthetic is required.
What kind of hair can be removed with pulsed light?
The new AFT + EDF pulsed light technology enables fast and painless removal of melanin-containing hair (from fair to dark) of any Fitzpatrick type I – VI (!) on a long-term or even permanent basis.
What is the difference between a PULSED LIGHT and a LASER epilation?
