High energy light impulses emitted by a xenon lamp are selectively absorbed by the melanin-containing hair follicles during their growth stage. The energy absorbed by the hair heats it together with the follicles. The hair stem cells are damaged and destroyed without any damage to the surrounding tissue. The hair does not grow again and is thus removed permanently.
Before starting the permanent hair removal, the hairs to be treated are shaved using a disposable or electric shaver. A thin (!) layer of ultrasound gel is applied. Then the treatment with the AFT applicator starts. During the days following the treatment, the hairs fall out.
The light impulse feels like a tiny prick without any pain. No local anaesthetic is required.

This means that the right laser and thus the right and optimum wavelength must be chosen according to hair and skin colour and skin type. Side effects are more common during a laser treatment than during treatments with pulsed light. Naturally we provide every user with intensive training on the device of his choice, free of charge.
