Dark circles under the eyes result from the response of the most sensitive area of the face to stress and/or lack of exercise. The cause can be a lack of oxygen inside the tired and weak tissue, after too many late nights, not enough sleep or insufficient ventilation inside rooms. If dark circles are visible under the eyes despite enough sleep, the reason might be genetic. The blood vessels are located very close to the thin skin surface of the area around the eyes, and their blue shadow looks like dark circles.
